Coach Ziegenfuss joins the staff as the Varsity assistant with a long resume of playing and coaching soccer. He was a 4 year starter, 2 time captain and team MVP at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. He also played 2 years of Collegiate Club soccer with the University of Minnesota. Post college he trained with the Minnesota Thunder professional (USISL) team.
He has coached youth levels from age 4-19, and has coached at the high school and top club levels, as well as with the Olympic Development Program. He has is grassroots license and is working towards his D license.
He is a lifelong student of the game, and continues to play, read about, and study all aspects of the beautiful game. His coaching philosophy emphasizes possession with purpose, and focus on first touch and intelligent decisions.

Kolby grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended Millard West High School, where he played four years of varsity soccer. He went on to attend Wartburg College, where he played four years of collegiate soccer and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health.
During college, Kolby served as an assistant coach at Waverly-Shell Rock High School for two seasons. He has always had a passion for helping others reach their full potential through sports.
Outside of soccer, Kolby is a “Games Teacher” at Mountain Phoenix Community School, where he teaches students in grades 4–8.
Kolby is ecstatic about the opportunity to coach the JV team and is committed to challenging players to compete at their highest level while growing as positive, well-rounded individuals.
